Nick Lockwood

Nick is delighted to serve the UCCS community as the Director of Orientation and New Student Enrollment. He is passionate about the ways that interpersonal communication impacts our health, belonging, and success, and centers his work around these principles.  

Prior to his current role, Nick has served as UCCS Success Coach, Area Coordinator in Residence Life and Housing at the University of New Mexico, and a Mentor Coordinator for the "I Have A Dream" Foundation. 

Nick is certified Emotional Intelligence Coach, a Daniels Ethics Fellow, and an alumnus of the CU Excellence in Leadership Program. He has received national recognition for programing, publications, and mentorship, and has published articles in the Journal of Health Communication, Encyclopedia of Health Communication, and co-authored a book.

He is the proud dad of two incredible kids and enjoys family bike rides, local bakeries, camping, and art.
