Student Leadership and Development
Volunteering
UCCS is committed to giving back to our community.
From our students to alumni to faculty and staff, we are all dedicated to changing the world for the better.
Throughout the year, UCCS offers countless volunteer opportunities. These are done through programs like UCCSlead, The Center for Service Learning Internship and Community Engagement (SLICE), our Center for Civic Engagement and Service (CCES), the UCCS Farm, and more.
Student Leadership Opportunities
Chancellor's Leadership Class (CLC) is a four-year undergraduate leadership development program at UCCS initiated in 1997. The program is designed to engage scholars with the members of the community to nourish positive impact through leadership and training. CLC strives to develop scholars' understanding of their leadership identity by cultivating a connection with themselves, the university, and Colorado Springs through leadership, service, and campus engagement.
The goal of CLC is to help our scholars recognize a thorough understanding of their own leadership by connecting and engaging with the community and other like-minded individuals. Learn more about CLC.
UCCSlead creates leadership and service-based programs with the goal of developing engaged and ethical world changing leaders. Through all the UCCSlead programs, all UCCS students will have access to leadership development, campus and community connection, and an understanding of what it means to be an everyday leader. Learn more about UCCSlead.
UCCS Student Government Association (SGA) mission is to help improve the lives and enhance the experiences of students. SGA strives to faithfully and truthfully serve and represent students as they pursue their futures. They exist to represent student interests to a wide variety of audiences, to include the UCCS administration, the Board of Regents of the University of Colorado, the City of Colorado Springs, and the Colorado legislature. SGA represent these interests as “the official voice of students” at UCCS
Additionally, SGA works to investigate and resolve common student concerns, advocate for the inclusion of students in the overall policy and decision-making processes of the university community, promote awareness of the student’s role in the academic community, enhance the quality and scope of education both inside and outside the classroom at the university, and to empower students with leadership and management opportunities.
We invite you to join. Contribute your unique perspectives, bring your ideas and talents, and make your mark on the lasting legacy of UCCS. Every student is a member of SGA, and there are many opportunities to get involved. Learn more on the SGA website.

UCCS Student Employment: Fueling Success Through Access to On-The-Job Experience
Thousands of students work on campus each year in need-based, non-need-based, and student hourly roles. These students are compensated for their time, all while picking up valuable experience. On-campus departments and entities are able to post positions for students, leading to powerful partnerships. Off-campus employers are also able to seek student workers in hourly roles.
