Heather Allen

Heather Allen is a proud UCCS alumna who currently serves as the Senior Executive Assistant to the Interim Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management and Student Affairs (EMSA) and as Project Manager for division-wide initiatives. She began her UCCS journey back in 2014 as a student employee in the Facilities Sign Shop and has expanded to include a variety of impactful roles across the university. Prior to her current position, Heather served in University Advancement as the project manager for the Ent Center for the Arts donor recognition wall project and as program manager for the KPWE and RYP scholarship programs. Earlier in her career, she was the university's first Communications and Marketing intern. 

Throughout her career at UCCS, Heather has demonstrated a deep commitment to supporting students, employees, and the broader campus community. She previously served as the administrator and chair of the UCCS Student Achievement Awards and currently serves on the UCCS Veteran and Military Affairs Council (VMAC). She also represents staff as a Staff Member-at-Large on the UCCS Staff Council. In recognition of her contributions, Heather received the prestigious 2020 CU Staff Excellence Award. In the Fall of 2025, Heather was names the UCCS Employee of the Quarter, and more recently, she was honored with the 2025-2026 Equity, Inquiry & Innovation Award from Dean Wehrman and the UCCS College of Education for her leadership in establishing the Air Force ROTC Detachment 105 Operating Location at UCCS. 

A Disabled Army Combat Veteran, Heather is passionate about serving others and creating opportunities for veterans and military-connected communities. She dedicates much of her time to supporting fellow veterans, sharing her experiences as a Military Sexual Trauma (MST) survivor, and giving back through volunteer service. She is a proud CASA volunteer and enjoys working alongside youth in the foster care system. Outside of her professional and community engagements, Heather enjoys spending time with her two sons, one a current UCCS student and the other a participant in the High School AVID/UCCS program. Supporting their educational journeys remains one of her greatest joys and sources of pride.
